WHY TO PUT ON A MASK?

Before I inscribe my subject I would resemble to a short story which influenced me to write this piece of mine….
“Once a young executive with poor self-esteem was promoted but he could not reconcile himself to his new office and position. One morning, there was a knock at his door; to show how important and busy he was, he picked up the phone and then asked the visitor to come in. As the man waited for the executive, the executive kept talking on the phone, nodding and saying “No Problem, I can handle that”. After a few minutes he hung up and asked the visitor what he could do for him. The man replied, “sir, I’m here to connect your phone.” :)
The above story made me understand that we mustn’t really refuse the gift that is continuously being offered to us – a fullness of being. We must never refuse the gift of being our true selves by trying to be somebody else. But so often we put on the mask of another, trying to be anyone but ourselves in the vain hope that we can escape to something better but in reality there is no ‘ better ‘ only diverse and we should commemorate this by being who WE really are. If we keep on insisting to be other people we may certainly not discover our real worth. When we project onto the world an image of another, an impostor, people often sense this and perhaps being too gracious in saying anything, they implicitly allow us to continue with the masquerade. But we must never allow this to happen – we must never abandon our true nature so that we may become strangers to ourselves and others. Remaining steadfast and confident within our own sense of being we can start to open up to the inner wealth that we have been blessed with, the inner riches that lie awaiting. And who knows what we can realize when we tap into this vast potential….. Whoever we are, whatever direction we come from, whatever route we take, we all face the same issue of self examination and we must all deal with this squarely and directly otherwise we run the risk of wasting our lives and that would be a diminishment – not only of ourselves but the wider community in which we serve. So many of us hide from ourselves and we don't even know who we are and why were we here? All people will prove they are better and put fake masks on their own faces. Every people pretend themselves what they actually are not from inside. Afraid to show the reality and hide their best quality. Tell people how it is, be real and be honest. If you see something wrong make sure you speak up. Being this way will naturally eliminate the snakes and fakes. They may take you as a fool, assure to shower you with the world, use their canny devastating tongue to manipulate and dominate your mind, but its better to put those bulshit people at arms length rather than falling into the arms of infidelity. There's no use of pretending to be good in front of people who are also doing same to us.
“ Mutual Deceptions don't lead anywhere !!”
Some people will leave you soon no matter how, but it's not the ending of your story, it's just the ending of their role in your story. Cause life goes on… Conversely one of life’s ironies is that the more straightforward and vulnerable you are, the more others try to discredit you as a fraud and a fake. Well in that case I would suggest… Shut them up by not caring.”

  1. Truly composed. But I guess the society itself is the offender. They don't accept the nature. They don't prefer to nurture..

    1. That's what the irony is... We should learn to shut them up by not responding.. (As mentioned in the end) :)
